AtGames also has a line of Atari consoles called the Atari Flashback.
Nintendo isn't licensing out its titles to anyone else. However, it has released a lot of classic games on its own newer consoles via Virtual Console.

Sega has licensed out its Genesis line to AtGames, which has released a number of "console in a controller" devices, with the games built-in. They've also recently released the "Sega Genesis Classic Game Console" which has 40 built-in Sega games, and a cartridge slot for playing other Genesis games. These are hardware based emulators though, so playback isn't pefect.

I really hope Nintendo does this but the VC thing forces a customer to buy a Wii or Wii U.

Re: [Kickstarter] OUYA: A New Kind of Video Game Console

Nintendo is heavily invested in selling its hardware, and using its first party titles to do so. Plenty of people have bought a Wii solely to play Nintendo games (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc.). Atari and Sega don't have any hardware of their own anymore, and have released their classic games on multiple platforms, so licensing them out for a dedicated console is no skin off their back.

A few new OUYA articles.
First, OUYA is postive about the conversion rates from free to pay on game son its console, but some devlopers are reporting really low conversion rates:

Secondly, OUYA is launching a campaign to match dollar-for-dollar successful Kickstater campaigns (up to $250,000). The catch is that the game has to be OUYA exclusive for 6 months:

Sorry to bump an old thread, but are you guys still using this console? Is anybody running emulation on it for the SNES by chance? I was just wondering about your success rate with it and if you think the console is worth the $$?
Mods - if this is considered illegal talk, please delete. I know emulation software is available all over the Ouya but Roms are not allowed to discuss.

Re: [Kickstarter] OUYA: A New Kind of Video Game Console
Rather than continue to hijack the Retron 5 thread, I'd thought I'd post here.
I just went back and read through this entire thread since I completely missed it when it was relevant. There were a lot of negative posts about the idea of this console while it was still in the kickstarter phase. It seemed to me the Ouya was focused on indie developers and smaller games. Funny how the PS4 got so much praise for a similar campaign during its launch. Now I'm not comparing the PS4 to the Ouya, but honestly the majority of the titles that have been released in the PSstore are not what I was expecting from a next-gen console. The PS4 cost me $399... my iPad cost me $499. If I'm gonna be playing $5 indie titles, I'd rather do it on the $99 (or less) Ouya. Personally, I love it.
To answer Rob V's question, yes I've played a few SNES titles on it and so far it has worked flawlessly. Really, all the emulators I've tried have been incredible on this thing. I recently had my NES hooked up and played a few games, then switched over to the Ouya and played the same games, and they looked 1000% better. My only gripe is that the controller isn't the greatest, but it does the job.

OUYA has been unable to restructure its debt, and now needs to quickly find a buyer.
Gaming company OUYA is on the auction block after tripping a debt covenant, according to a confidential email sent out earlier this month from CEO Julie Uhrman to company investors and advisors.
Investment bank Mesa Global — which recently managed the sale of music service Songza to Google GOOG -0.33% — has been hired to manage the process. No word yet on asking price.
OUYA originally raised $15 million in Series A funding in early 2013 from investors like Kleiner Perkins, Mayfield Fund, Occam Partners, Shasta Ventures and NVIDIA NVDA 0.09% . Not too long after, it quietly secured some venture debt from TriplePoint Capital.
It is unclear exactly how much was lent by TriplePoint, except that it must have been more than the $10 million that OUYA raised just two months ago from Alibaba BABA -0.05% . Debt restructuring negotiations were unsuccessful. In her memo, Uhrman writes: “Given our debtholder’s timeline, the process will be quick. We are looking for expressions of interest by the end of this month.”
OUYA originally launched as a crowdfunded “microconsole” for gaming, but quickly struggled to find buyers. What it did have, however, was a large library of games. The Santa Monica, Calif.-based company last year signed an agreement to deliver its games via Xiaomi’s televisions and set-top boxes, and next month will go live on certain Alibaba set-top boxes.
“Our focus now is trying to recover as much investor capital as possible,” Uhrman wrote. “We believe we’ve built something real and valuable. I continue to read the tweets and emails of our fans who play OUYA every day, and our catalog is now over 1,000 apps and 40,000 developers. We have the largest library of Android content for the TV (still more than Amazon) — hells ya!”
Neither Uhrman nor TriplePoint has yet returned requests for comment.

Yeah these things weren't good. I owned one for a short period but it never passed the "beta" phase for me.

I think the Fire TV and Nexus Player have sucked the wind from the sails of this machine. Anyone who wants Android games on their TV is likely to get one of those instead; both even offer an optional gamepad.
